This policy explains what information this Site collects and how it's used. The short version: we collect almost nothing, we never sell data, and we disclose any advertising that may use cookies.
1. Information you provide
If you email us at hello@velstech.net, we receive whatever you choose to include in your message. We use it only to respond to you and don't share it.
2. Information stored on your device
The Site uses your browser's local storage to remember your theme preference (light/dark) and accent color. This data stays on your device – it is not sent to us and is not accessible to the Site's operators.
3. Google AdSense
The Site uses Google AdSense, an advertising service that shows ads. Google uses cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites, and to measure ad performance. You may see ads tailored to your interests.
- What Google may collect: IP address, browser/device details, and page visits, for the purpose of delivering and measuring ads.
- Cookies: Google uses cookies (for example
NID,ANID) for ad personalisation and to count ad impressions. - Opt out: you can disable personalised advertising at Google's Ads Settings.
- Third-party vendors: Google and its partners may serve ads and use their own cookies, subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
4. Site analytics
The Site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand aggregate traffic – which pages are read and roughly where visitors come from. It is cookieless and privacy-friendly: it does not use cookies, does not fingerprint devices, and does not track you across the web. No personal data is collected, so no consent banner is required for it.
The Site does not use tracking analytics, fingerprinting, or any advertising scripts beyond Google AdSense and Cloudflare Web Analytics. We don't build profiles and we don't follow you across the web – except what Google's ad cookies enable through the AdSense service.
5. AI chat assistant
The Site offers an optional AI chat assistant. When you use it, your message is sent to an AI service (via Cloudflare Workers AI) to generate a reply. To answer questions about this Site, the assistant may include short snippets from the Site's articles as context.
- What we don't do: the assistant does not store or log your messages, and no personal data is collected for the chat to work.
- Third parties: your message is processed by the underlying AI service provider, which has its own privacy practices.
- Accuracy: AI responses are generated automatically and can be wrong. For important matters – especially security, financial, legal, or medical – don't rely on the assistant; contact us directly.
6. AI tools and file uploads (RAG)
Some tools on this Site – including the RAG "Ask Your File"
tool and the LLM Playground – let you paste text or upload a
.txt file and ask questions about it.
- How it works: your file is read inside your browser, split
into chunks, and the most relevant chunks are sent together with your question to
an AI service (
chat.velstech.net, which uses Cloudflare Workers AI) so it can generate an answer grounded in your text. - What we don't do: we do not upload your file to our own servers, we do not store it, and we do not keep it after you leave the page. Any working copy stays in your browser's session storage on your device and is cleared when you close the tab or start a new session.
- Third parties: because the relevant parts of your content are sent to an AI service provider to produce an answer, that provider may process the content under its own privacy practices. We do not control that processing.
- Please be careful: do not upload files containing personal, confidential, or sensitive information (such as passwords, financial records, medical data, or private documents). Anything you upload may be sent to a third-party AI provider.
- Accuracy: AI answers are generated automatically and can be wrong or incomplete. They are not a substitute for professional advice and should not be relied upon for high-stakes decisions.
7. Hosting and infrastructure
The Site is hosted on GitHub Pages and served through Cloudflare. These providers may process standard technical data (such as IP addresses) as part of delivering and securing the Site. We don't control their logging practices; you can review their policies at GitHub and Cloudflare.
8. Third-party links
Articles may link to external sites. Once you leave this Site, this policy no longer applies – please check the privacy policy of any site you visit.
9. Children's privacy
The Site is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Affiliate links
Some links on this Site are affiliate links – for example, links to products on Amazon.in through the Amazon Associates programme. If you click one and make a purchase, the Site may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. See the Affiliate Disclosure for the plain-language version.
Clicking an affiliate link may cause the retailer to set a cookie (for example, Amazon's) so it can attribute the sale to the Site. The Site does not receive or store that data and cannot see your browsing or purchase history. The retailer's own privacy policy applies once you leave this Site.

We may update this policy as the Site evolves. Changes take effect when posted.
