1. What affiliate links are
When you click a link to a product (a GPU, a hosting plan, a software subscription) and make a purchase, the retailer pays the site a small percentage of the sale as a referral fee. The price you pay is identical whether or not the link is affiliate – the commission comes out of the retailer's marketing budget, not your pocket.
2. When this site earns a commission
- Amazon Associates – links to products on Amazon.in (and other Amazon marketplaces) are affiliate links. VelsTech is a participant in the Amazon Associates Programme, designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.
- Other affiliate programmes – some software, hosting, cloud, and tool recommendations may use affiliate links through their respective programmes.
Not every link on the site is an affiliate link – only those that earn us a commission when used. Links that aren't affiliate are included purely because they're useful.
3. It never costs you extra
Affiliate links never change the price you pay. If anything, using them helps support the site – keeping it free, ad-light, and independent. If a product is on sale at the retailer, you still get the sale price.
4. Editorial independence
Recommendations on this site are made on merit first. Being an affiliate doesn't mean we'll recommend something we wouldn't otherwise – a bad recommendation costs us trust, which is worth more than any commission. Where a product is sponsored or provided free for review, that's disclosed separately on the article.
5. A note on cookies
